Music Video Challenge 2015:

Below is our finished music video...

Behind the Scenes:

We used 1SE (1 second Everyday), to show most of the journey we took to make our music video.

Below is our 1SE video...

We all began by thinking about where this story could be set.  We thought of night and space.  Once we had decided about this we watched Puppet Parody snippets on You Tube and liked the idea of using sock puppets.  We thought other children would like this.  As a class we thought of what could happen in our story.  Then a groups of children went and worked on the storyboard.

The start of our storyboard....humans are heading to the moon....
We used Pinterest and created boards for all the things we had to draw.  We used this to give us ideas.  We had to use our imagination to think what the alien planet (Robolien), would be like that the humans went too after being sucked into a black hole.

Storyboard showing what happens when the humans land on Robolien (planet with robots and aliens)
Everyone worked together to design and then make all of the backdrops, props and puppets.  We learnt art techniques to create space looking textures and learnt some puppeteering skills. Our teacher taught us how to use the camera and how to use iMovie.  Sometimes we needed some help to match the singing with the puppets singing, this was a challenge!

What happens when the drummer first sees her...

The robots are after her...

Some or our original ideas...
The lady without her mask!
Design to show what the lady alien could look like...

Some of our Reflections:

'I found the animation hard because it went too big or small or the meteor and spaceship didn't touch. We had to use our imagination and had to work together.  Last year I saw how to puppeteer, so I knew how hard it was.'  Jack

'I found the puppeteering challenging because you have to put your arm up to move the puppets arms to drum.  Sometimes it went off to the side.  I learnt how to dry brush, puppeteer and how to green screen.'  Matteo

'I learnt how to film, how to dry brush and how to edit a movie. We worked together by doing different jobs and we could pick what jobs we could do.' Ashton

'I learnt how to get a long with people better.  We worked together and it was hard work!'  Nikkita

'I learnt how to puppeteer and control the camera.  I did a lot of Directing and puppeteering.  I did some of the camera work.  We worked with everyone and as a team.'  Nabraska

'We did team work and we voted for what props would be in the movie. Everyone worked on different things.  I learnt that it's not easy to make a movie.  I did some editing and had fun doing the music video.'  Lily

'We did some ideas and planning as a team.  I'm most proud that I did this with the class.'  Willow

'I helped my friends do the robots backdrop.  I am most proud of doing stuff I've never done before and I learnt how to make real puppets.  I learnt to record and be an editor.  I liked everything!' Riley

'I learnt how to make puppets and I also learnt how to Direct.  The most challenging part was puppeteering the piano because it hurt my arm.  I helped my friends paint the robots.  We all worked on the storyboard.  I'm proud of how well I worked and I'm proud of the class and how hard they worked.'  Holly

  11. B3 you are amazing! I can see why your music video is in the Made Award finals. I know this song - it has been around for a while - and I think you have done a very clever job of creating a story to match the lyrics. I hope you feel proud of what you have achieved as a team. Fingers crossed for the award announcements. Liz.
